This is the official website of Glossop Guild, a community formed in 2009 to promote liberal education in and around the town. Glossop is a former mill town at the northern end of the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom. The Guild expects to promote a wide range of courses, all of which are provided for the interest and enlightenment of participants. The Guild aims to select tutors on the basis of their ability to present lively and challenging courses, as well as for their expertise and experience. Membership costs £5 and is renewable annually from 1st May. Members elect the Managing Committee, advise on the choice of courses and benefit from reductions in course fees. You are welcome to join us. This site has now been updated to include details of all courses offered in the Autumn 2010 and Spring 2011 Programmes.
