Glossop Lion 1847

Overview

The Glossop Guild was formed in 2009 to promote liberal education in and around the town.

Glossop is a former mill town at the northern end of the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom. The Guild is a non-profit organisation which endeavours to promote a wide range of courses, all of which we provide for the interests and enlightenment of participants. The Guild aims to select tutors on the basis of their ability to present lively and challenging courses, as well as for their expertise and experience. Members and participants are encouraged to contribute their own views and engage in informative discussion. All courses are open to both members and non-members.

Summer Programme 2024

During the summer months whilst the Guild Committee are preparing for the autumn term and taking well earned breaks. Mike Webb our chairman usually organises a short programme of walks and visits for members. This year is no exception; we are delighted to announce that we can offer two visits, one to the Lady Lever Art Gallery at Port Sunlight and one to Jodrell Bank Observatory. In addition we have two walks, one to a local wild flower meadow and one to a local farm which is run on a predominantly ecological basis.

Further information including booking can be found on the Summer Programme page.
