Overview
The Glossop Guild was formed in 2009 to promote liberal education in and around the town.
Glossop is a former mill town at the northern end of the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom. The Guild is a non-profit organisation which endeavours to promote a wide range of courses, all of which we provide for the interests and enlightenment of participants. The Guild aims to select tutors on the basis of their ability to present lively and challenging courses, as well as for their expertise and experience. Members and participants are encouraged to contribute their own views and engage in informative discussion. All courses are open to both members and non-members.
Autumn Programme September to December 2024 - We are now taking bookings.
Welcome once again to our forthcoming autumn term programme which we hope will tempt your interests. We have a cacophony of diverse subjects this year ranging from surrealist women painters to the origins of reproduction in animals and insects. From the origins of AVRO Aviation in Manchester to analysis of the forthcoming American election in fact a total of 18 diverse subjects. Once again we are offering both a venue based programme in Glossop for those who wish to attend in person and a Zoom based programme for people who prefer to attend in the comfort of their own homes. Glossop Guild AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Guild will be held this year on Monday 22nd April at 7pm at Glossop Labour Club. The night will include a review of the year's courses and a preview of the next term. Also we will be entertained by the popular local poet Culain Wood. A Bar and refreshments will be provided. Further details can be found on the "Events" page of this website.
As a small non profit organisation Glossop Guild are exempt from registration with the ICO for data protection act purposes. Nevertheless any personal details you give us directly, or via our course booking process, will only be used for Glossop Guild purposes, and maintained in accord with General Data Protection regulation principles.

To book a course on the courses page just select "Buy Lectures", this takes you to the "secure payments" page, then select "check out" (not "checkout with PayPal); then on the next page select "pay by debit or credit card" which is the option towards the bottom of the page. Fill in your details and follow the prompts. When the transaction is completed you will be given a transaction number which serves as your receipt - no further receipt for the course is required.
